that depends on the girl. a hug and comfort is all well and good, but sometimes what they want or need is space. so what i would so is tell them im there for them if they need, offer a hug, and leave it at that. if they need or want the hug and comfort they can come and reach out. its always there for them. otherwise they can have all the space they need

no way jose! most girls today refrain from eating cakes for solving sadness,it changes nothing, I'll take the main advice of giving her some privacy,she's better off finding refuge over shoehorning treats she might not like to try at her worst moment.
